Handmade Elephant Toy from Naturally Dyed Thai Fabric

These handmade fabric elephants are made in Northern Thailand using naturally dyed textiles. No two elephants are the same, each bearing the hallmark irregularities of plant dye fabric. They make a perfect elephant gift, small keepsake, or decorative piece.

We have two styles of fabric elephant available - one with its trunk down, and the other with its trunk in the air. Each elephant has a small loop on its back, which you can either remove or use to turn it into a keyring or hanging elephant decoration.

About the Plant Dye Fabric

The fabric used to create these handmade elephants is sourced from a small-scale artisan dyer in Northern Thailand. Using locally foraged plants, flowers, and fruits, the fabrics are hand dyed with natural, non-toxic dyes. Some unusual resist techniques, including the use of sticky rice and paper, create unique patterns and organic textures, giving each piece its own character.
