How do you use procion dye?
First you’ll need to mix up the dye solution to the required strength using the procion dye powder and soda ash, then apply it to the fabric using your chosen method. You can also use the dye on paper, for which you don’t need soda ash. Read our detailed instructions on how to use procion dyes here.
What type of dye do I need for batik?
A cold water fibre reactive dye like our procion MX dye is ideal, as you can achieve vibrant colours without melting the wax.
Do I need salt for procion dyes?
Salt is used as a fixative for some dyes, however for these procion MX dyes you will just need soda ash, which you can buy here.
