If you can get to Bishop’s Castle in South Shropshire, we would love to see you in our shop, Textile Traders. We are on the main street next to the Town Hall. We don't have traffic wardens, meters or even car parking charges but that does mean that parking outside the shop can be tricky. But cruise around and you'll find somewhere!
Bishop’s Castle is a small historic market town set in the beautiful Shropshire hills. There are bookshops to browse in, great places to eat, and the town even has two real ale breweries. It's a quiet place apart from when we have our Festivals in the summer. For more info about Bishop's Castle, look here.
We have an ever changing stock of fine hand made textiles bought from makers in small towns and villages across Asia. Everything is chosen personally and we try our best to stock things which are unusual and often unique. Most of what we sell, we have bought ourselves from the Far East or else it comes from other textile enthusiasts and traders.
We are open from 10am to 5pm every day except Sunday. We don't usually open on Bank Holiday Mondays. If you are making a special journey to visit us, please check first.
As so much of our stock is totally unique and one offs, we can’t put it all online. If you can make it to Bishop's Castle or to one of our shows or events you will also find clothes which are made specially for us, our extremely popular shoes made from hand made textiles, rugs, cushions, throws, tablecloths, wall hangings, and batiked wooden bowls, amongst plenty more.
