Hmong Hill Tribe Indigo Batik Cushion Cover 

This handmade indigo cushion cover features a striking geometric star batik design, created using traditional wax resist techniques by Hmong craftspeople in Northern Thailand. The front panel is hand-batiked and dyed using natural indigo, resulting in a deep blue colour and subtle variations that make each cushion cover unique.

With four different designs available, these cushion covers can be mixed and matched and suit a variety of decor styles, whether eclectic bohemian, modern or rustic.

About Indigo Hmong Batik Fabric

We source these handcrafted cushion covers from Hmong tribespeople in Northern Thailand, who have a long history of working with batik and indigo to create tribal textiles.

The process of creating indigo batik is an ancient textile technique that is echoed around the world. First, traditional patterns are drawn or stamped onto the fabric using hot wax, before being dyed in natural indigo vats multiple times to achieve the signature deep blue colour. This process produces colour variation, as well as the distinctive handcrafted finish that we know and love!

Product Details

The front panel is made from hand-dyed indigo batik fabric, while the reverse is a durable indigo coloured cotton. Each cushion cover features a zip closure, allowing you to easily insert the cushion inner of your choice.

Care Note

Important: Natural indigo dye is notorious for transferring its colour, especially before washing. Please pre-wash before use, particularly on light-coloured furniture.
